6. Maynard Alvin "Red"² DEGROFF (Clinton¹) (#507) was born in Fulton Co.,, OH 14 MAY 1908. Maynard died 17 AUG 2003 in Bryan, Williams Co., OH, at age 95.

He married Sarah Elizabeth ALTMAN 1935. (Sarah Elizabeth ALTMAN is #5211.) Sarah was born 7 FEB 1915 in West Unity, OH. Sarah died 8 JUL 2000 in West Unity, OH, at age 85. He attended trade school for baking, owned and operated West Unity Bakery and Coffee Shop from 1935-1973. worked part-time with private contractor Doyle Leu, and worked for a number of years at Hollingshead Mortuary and Ambulance Service, West Unity. He was a US army veteran serving during WW II under Gen.. George Patton as a cook and baked special items for Gen.. George Patton. and was a member of West Unity United Methodist Church. He was a West Unity town Councilman for a number of years, a member of West Unity Volunteer Fire Dept.. and West Unity American Legion Post 669. He was a charter member of the West Unity Lions Club, A member of West Unity's Chamber of Commerce, and was man of the year in 2001. At the time of his death he had two grandchildren and two grt-grandchildren.
