He married twice. He married Josephine N. BIRCH 23 JUN 1868 in Fountain Co., IN. (Josephine N. BIRCH is #7757.) Josephine was born 3 APR 1852 in Fountain Co., IN. Josephine was the daughter of Thomas BIRCH and Love Newton SATCHEL. Josephine died 16 SEP 1876 at age 24. He married Ida B. (?) DAZEY about 1881 in OH. (Ida B. (?) DAZEY is #7779.) Ida was born 1859 in OH. Ida died after 1934 in OH, at age unknown. Her surname my be Stevens or Stambaugh? Per Nora Downing If this is the case her parents were Phillip & Mary A. Stambaugh. Phillip born in PA and Mary born in VA also Ida would been born in 1862 OH and the above resided in Blanchard, Putnam Co., OH. I find a James H. Dazey who served in the Civil War in OH md to Ida B. Dazey claiming a pension. Some family members thought his middle name was Ervin? It appears not to be the case. He served in Company D. 116th Infantry Regiment, IN enlisted in on 7 AUG 1863 and musted out 1 MAR 1864 Lafayette, IN with distinguished. And then he reenlisted in May of 1864 until March 1865 and was mustered out as a Sargent. This was taken from the 1890 Census Veterans schedule, Putnam Co., OH
