Anthony immigrated to destination unknown before 1876. According to Josephine (DeHaus) Barber her father came to America to avoid a draft in the german army. She did not why he came to Defiance Ohio, but she knew he had a brother in Nebraska that was married and had several daughters. No one new who Anthony's parents were except that he was from Hanover, Germany. Anthony worked at the Trunbull Wagon Works in Defiance. He died of a enlarged spleen which had given him trouble for about three years prior to his death. I need to continue on research such as naturalization, date and location of immigration Baptism as a catholic prior to his wedding. Anthony's brother that lived in Nebraska and we have a family photo that was taken in Troy NE.he was named Andrew, as at one time I found a Andrew DeHaus in Defiance and Aunt Kay mentioned that she remembered Aunt Kate talking about a Andy DeHaus. Anthony DeHaus an family resided on Harrison Ave. between Pierce & Warren according to the 1881-1882 city directory. And in 1887 the directory shows the family at Kentner St. I reviewed LDS microfilm files and it did not show a Dehaus name in Hanover but did show Deheus?

enlarge spleen was the cause of death, and was a prolong problem prior to death, three years or more
