She married John J. MILLER 8 DEC 1846 in Canton, Stark Co., OH.(8) (John J. MILLER is #154.) John was born 18 MAR 1823 in Canton, Stark Co., OH. John(9) was the son of William Sr. MILLER and Elizabeth "Betsy" NOOLS. John died 17 APR 1905 in Defiance, Defiance Co., OH, at age 82. His body was interred 20 APR 1905 in Riverside Cem., Defiance Co., OH. Crescent News, April 18, 1905 Defiance, OH. "John Miller Passes Away" "Was a pioneer Resident of Defiance and well known." John Miller, amoung the oldest resident of the city is dead. A man who has lived in Defiance since the place was but a mere village and has watched the development of the city to its present stage; a carpenter who helped to construct many of the principal buildings and dwellings, has passed to the great beyond. Mr. Miller died yesterday afternoon after an illness of some months, the past winter, wasting his remaining strength, old age, with a complication of troubles was the cause of his demise. The deceased was born in Canton, Stark Co... and was thus 82 yrs. 1 mo. and 20 days. In 1849, Mr. Miller came to Defiance and since that time has been a continuous resident of the city. Mr. Miller was a quiet man, and for many years has resided at the corner of Sessions and N. Clinton Streets, North Defiance. His granddaughter, Miss Gwendoline Dellet, has been a constant care taker of the aged man since the demise of his wife several years ago. This grand-daughter was the sole source of enjoyment of the venerable man during declining days. She, together with his children who lived here, were continously at his side. Mr. Miller served his life well, and up until a few years ago, even when eighty years old, he walked several miles in the country an did a hard day's work at carpentering. The only office he ever held was that of a member of the board of health, and even in his advanced age, he would stay at the meetings through until the late hours of the night, and then walk home alone to his abiding place across the river. The deceased was married to Miss Agatha Null in 1846. Five children were born to them. Four of whom are alive. They are: John I., William H., Charles L., Mrs Barber (Barbara A.) wife of contractor John C. Barber, all living in this city. A Daughter Mrs. Margaret H. Dellet died in 1877, leaving a daughter.(Gwendolyn) The deceased also leaves eleven grandchildren, a brother, Samuel Miller of Angola, IN. and two sisters, Mrs Margaret Nuce of Lima, OH. and Mrs. John M. (Catherine) Richard of Stryker, OH. Mr. Miller was the oldest living member of the Fort Defiance Lodge Independent Order of the Odd Fellows. He had been a member of this order from the time it was instituted over forty years ago, and his heart and soul was wrapped up in its teachings. "This order will turn out in a body at the funeral, and will have charge of the services, which will occur thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house. Rev. A.B. Murphy of the Baptist Church will preach the funeral sermon.. Interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery. The census indicated she had 7 children? 2 children are unaccounted for? They may have or most likely died as infants?
