He married Miriam SMITH date unknown. (Miriam SMITH is #5742.) Miriam was the daughter of Daniel SMITH Sr. and Hannah HARDING.

When Eaton was age 40 and Miriam SMITH was age unknown they became the parents of Eaton Jr. CLEAVES 2 MAR 1783 in Arundel, York Co., ME. now known as Kennebunkport, ME.

When Eaton was age 62 and Miriam SMITH was age unknown they became the parents of Joshua CLEAVES 1805. It has been reported that Eaton Cleaves Sr. had six children, and was proved by his will in 1810? need further information to back this up. This information was supplied by Wesley Cleaves.
