Carl Henry Moll, Jr., 91 years young, of Olathe, Kan., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family March 30, 2014, after a short illness. He leaves behind a legacy and our hearts are full of memories of great times together. Carl was born in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Carl H. Moll, Sr. and Lottie (Hawk) who preceded him in death. Carl graduated from Central High School in 1941 and was involved in many activities including football, Army ROTC and the Brush and Pencil Club. On March 4, 1942, Carl married Mildred (Prather) Moll who preceded him in death in 2004 after celebrating 62 years of marriage. He is survived by his sister, Alma Wing, Wichita, Kan.; his daughters, Carol Harper (Thomas), Bentonville, Ark., and Janet Moll, Lincoln, Kan.; his three grandchildren, Anneliese (Corey) Ebaben-Cothern, Hopkinsville, Ky., Andre (Kristin Phelps) Ebaben, Jr., Lincolnville, Kan., and Anthony (Emily Devlin) Ebaben, Olathe, Kan.; eight great grandchildren, Omar, Isrrael, Juleein, Mitchael, Austin, Andrew, Kayla and Khloey. Carl retired in 1986 after 36 years of employment with Honeywell (formerly Bendix Corporation). He was a life member of the American Society of Metals, Overland Park Kiwanis Club, and the Dwight Cowles American Legion Post of Overland Park. Inducted into the Army during World War II at Ft. Devens, Mass., he served as a Corporal in the 776th Anti-Aircraft Artillery, AW Battalion 49th Brigade and participated in the Normandy Invasion on Utah Beach and Battle of the Bulge. In post-war Germany, he was a player on an American football exhibition team. Pre and post war Carl and Mildred lived in Springfield, Mass., where he started his career in heat treating and metallurgy. Carl left a lasting impression on his many co-workers, friends, and neighbors. He will be remembered for his stories, wanting to know where people were from, and finding something in common with all those met. He enjoyed fishing, softball, camping, bowling, and sports including the Royals, Chiefs, KU, and KSU. In the 1960's and 70's he was a manager and coach for his daughter, Janet's softball team. Carl served as Democratic Party Committeeman while a resident of Overland Park. Please join our family in prayer knowing dad has been welcomed home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
