He married Harriet Dawley SHERMAN 1 JAN 1851 in RI. (Harriet Dawley SHERMAN is #7459.) Harriet was born 19 DEC 1829 in Exeter, RI. Harriet was the daughter of Samuel W. SHERMAN. Harriet died 7 OCT 1902 at age 72.

When Jesse was age 22 and Harriet Dawley SHERMAN was age 21 they became the parents of Moses Jesse BARBER 28 JUL 1851 in South Kingstown, RI. When Jesse was age 25 and Harriet Dawley SHERMAN was age 24 they became the parents of Ella Marie BARBER 9 NOV 1854 in South Kingstown, RI.
